About Us
The Judicial Board is a student run adjudicating body of the Agnes Scott College that exists as a means of ensuring that students uphold the standards of the Honor Code in their residential life. The Honor Code expects that each student's behavior and actions will contribute to a community characterized by individual integrity, respect and a concern for the implications and repercussions of individual behavior.
The Board is comprised of approximately 10-12 members within a given time, holding various positions from class representatives to President. We are trusted to carefully deliberate over cases of alleged violations of residential, non-academic, policies. These cases can be brought to the Judicial Board by Resident Life (RAs, RDs, GHDs, etc.) or common students.
The purpose of Judicial Board is to educate students rather than punish, to be helpful rather than vindictive, and to stimulate students to think deeply about their actions as they relate to the other members of our community. Our goal is to encourage students to generate a sense of mutual respect among their peers and assist them in assuming responsibility for their behaviors.
